POLICIES/SHIPPING/RETURNS:

 

SALES TAX:

For orders outside of Rhode Island , no sales tax is charged. We collect sales tax only for orders shipped to locations in Rhode Island . For some shipments to some states we are required by law to charge sales tax. We will do our best to inform you as soon as possible.

CURRENCY:

All prices are in US dollars (USD).

 

PAYMENT OPTIONS:


Alpha Granite accepts American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Your credit card will be charged at the time that you place your order.
 
If credit card payment is not an option for you, you may also pay by cash, check, money order, travelers checks, or cashiers checks, payable to Alpha Granite Inc .. Please note that your order will not be processed until we receive payment.

PRICING ERRORS:


We are human and that being the case; our site may occasionally list incorrect pricing. While we make every effort to ensure these mistakes do not happen, Alpha Granite cannot honor incorrect prices. In the event an error is found, we will inform the customer BEFORE the order is shipped. At that time you will have the option to place the order with the correct pricing, or to cancel the order completely. We apologize in advance for any errors on our website, and we will keep these mistakes to a minimum.

 

IN STOCK, OUT OF STOCK & SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS:

No one could possibly stock every product, but most are in stock. When you place an order we will let you know within 24 to 48hours (Mon-Fri) if that product is not in stock or if it must be special ordered.

 

Items in Stock
In-stock orders take approximately 3 - 10 business days anywhere in the 48 contiguous U.S. states. Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii or any area that is not within the 48 contiguous U.S. states may take longer. Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii and any area not within the 48 contiguous U.S. states are subject to an additional shipping charge. International orders may take longer.

Items not in Stock

Items not in stock or special orders take approximately 3 to 5 weeks anywhere in the 48 contiguous U.S. states. If an item is not scheduled to ship out within 10 days of your order, we will attempt to notify you of the backorder status. If we cannot get in contact with you, we will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to schedule delivery or wait for approval of the lead time.

 

SHIPPING & OTHER CHARGES :

At Alpha Granite, Inc. we make every effort to ensure that your shipments will arrive promptly and undamaged, while keeping your shipping costs as low as possible. We value your business and will do everything in our power to make certain that you are a satisfied customer. Orders are normally shipped via FedEx, UPS or USPS Ground (tubs and very heavy items will ship by other means).

 

Shipping Policy  

 All orders are processed upon receipt.
 
Most orders are shipped within 1-5 business days of receiving your order and will arrive in approximately 3 to 10 business days.

  • * During and before holidays – standard shipping times can take up to 2 additional days
    * Manufacturer direct orders may require additional time for processing and assembly
  • We cannot ship orders to a PO Box.

  
Actual shipping time is contingent upon the availability of merchandise, warehouse location, credit verification, weather conditions and other factors.  Orders are not shipped on Saturdays or Sundays. If we become aware of any other delays, every effort will be made to contact you by phone, e-mail or mail. In the event that an ordered item is backordered or otherwise unavailable, we will contact you to find out if you would like to substitute a similar item, leave the missing item on backorder, remove that item from your order or cancel your entire order.

Orders containing large items (toilets, whirlpools, etc.) or a large quantity of items may require shipping via common carrier (truck). Orders containing stone may require ocean freight shipping. If your order requires shipping via common carrier or ocean Freight, our customer service department will contact you by phone, e-mail or mail before your order ships.

 
Because we depend on outside delivery services, including but not limited to UPS, FedEx and USPS, Alpha Granite does not guarantee any delivery times. Alpha Granite will never be responsible for any delivery time guarantees in shipping, and we cannot and will not be responsible for any inconvenience, monetary loss, penalty or extra charge incurred by our customers should any delivery not arrive when anticipated.
 

Ground Freight Rates:

Freight rates for ground transportation (trucking) are based on freight classification, weight, volume, origin, destination, fuel costs, insurance, and any applicable tolls, duties and tariffs. These rate inputs as well as competitive factors in the transportation industry cause ongoing rate changes among freight carriers.

 

Ocean Freight Rates :

Alpha Granite negotiates substantially lower freight costs due to its worldwide shipping volume. These savings are reflected in our all inclusive purchase price. You may wish to understand the breakdown of the logistics involved. For more info contact info@alpha-granite.com

 

What's involved in your ocean freight product delivery?

From manufacturer pick up and through all delivery stages to the designated destination, we take care of everything for our customers, including insurance on lost or damaged goods in transit. Wherever required, Alpha Granite covers the following logistics operations:

  • Export Customs Clearance (trucking from factory to vessel),
  • Cargo Storing (if required at the terminal),
  • Container Assignment (attaching a specific container to a steamship line),
  • Customs Clearance (at the port of arrival),
  • Examinations (Cargo inspections are now frequently required.),
  • Demurrage (storage charges incurred for detained containers),
  • Letter of indemnity (in event of discrepancy).

 

Costs paid by Alpha Granite and invoiced to customer:

  • Duties (where charged by governments),
  • Merchandise processing fee (charged by Customs),
  • Brokerage and other charges (administrative fees involved in Customs clearance),
  • In North America, delivery to final destination (any zip code or postal code in United States or Canada ).

FASTER SHIPPPING OPTIONS:

Please keep in mind that your expedited order will ship out within 24 hours USUALLY. Sometimes, it will ship out within 48 hours. If the item is in stock it usually ships out the same business day so long as the order is placed before 12 noon EST, and sometimes later!

 

SHIPPING DAMAGE:

Please, inspect your packages thoroughly RIGHT AWAY, before signing for the delivery.
 

Sign all delivery receipts as “SUBJECT TO INSPECTION”. Make sure you write “Subject to Inspection” on the delivery receipt and/or bill of lading. Do not sign your name on the delivery receipt and/or bill of lading unless you are 100% certain there is no damage. If you sign for a delivery without marking it “Subject to Inspection”, then any shipping damage will be your responsibility.

If the packaging appears damaged on the outside, or there are missing pieces upon arrival please refuse to accept it from the carrier or please make sure when signing the shipper's proof-of-delivery slip, you include a note stating the package is or appears damaged. YOU SHOULD MARK SUCH DAMAGE ON THE DELIVERY RECEIPT AND/OR BILL OF LADING WITH THE DRIVER. THE DRIVER MUST WRITE DOWN NEXT TO YOUR SIGNATURE THAT THE ITEMS ARE BEING ACCEPTED, BUT THEY ARE DAMAGED. If you do accept a damaged shipment, please inform us immediately or on the first available business day at 401-228-6088 or info@alpha-granite.com . Alpha Granite may request digital photos of the damage to determine the extent and severity of the problem. Depending on the product and where/how it was shipped, it may be necessary for you to deal with the carrier. Inspect your packages thoroughly RIGHT AWAY. Do not assume the items are undamaged because the box is undamaged.

If you signed the delivery as “SUBJECT TO INSPECTION” and discover damage to an item after acceptance of the delivery, please halt installation and contact us within 48 hours of the delivery acceptance in order for us to be responsible for the damage. If you contact us within 48 hours, we will file a claim with the shipping company and WE will be responsible for the damage. We will ship you out a brand new product and give you a credit for the damaged item once we either get that damaged item back or it is inspected by the carrier. If you do not contact us within 48 hours of receiving a damaged item, we cannot file the shipping claim. In that case, we will do our best to help you but you will be responsible for filing the claim with the shipping company. The odds of getting credit from a freight carrier for concealed freight damage are not very good, so we encourage you to inspect your package thoroughly right away so all problems are avoided.

If you follow the above policies by writing “SUBJECT TO INSPECTION” on the receipt and by inspecting your items right away and by reporting damage within 48 hours via phone and email, then we will take responsibility for the damage in transit. However, resolving the claim with the carrier may take from 30 to 90 days to resolve. Credit for the damaged item will be issued when the case is resolved with the carrier. WHEN YOU RECEIVE YOUR MERCHANDISE:

Please open all boxes immediately and check contents. We must be notified of any damage or other problems within 2 days of you receiving your products. In order to serve you better, we request that you also inspect all of your products for obvious defects/blemishes within 2 days of receiving them.

IF WRONG PRODUCTS ARE RECEIVED:

It is very rare that you will receive an incorrect product; orders are double-checked before we ship them. However, if you believe that you have received a product that is not what you ordered please notify us within 2 days of receiving your order. Please Note that it is highly recommended that you purchase a product sample before ordering any stone products, as a reference. Please keep in mind that products such as stone and wood have natural variations and your sample is only a small swatch of the product you will ultimately receive. Alpha Granite may request digital photos of the product received to confirm product details, size, color, etc. If the products you have received do not match those that you have ordered, we will issue an RGA number and return instructions on how and where to return the product. We will ship you the correct product and we will pay the shipping cost both ways.

If it is determined that the product you have received is the correct grade, color, size, etc. according to your order, and you wish to return or exchange your order please see our Returns Policy.

NOTE: Do not ship products back to Alpha Granite without contacting us for a return goods authorization (RGA) number and return instructions.

DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS:

If the product you receive has manufacturing defects, contact us at info@alpha-granite.com or call 401-228-6088 within 2 days of receiving the product and Alpha Granite will replace the item. We will issue an RGA number and give instructions on shipping the item back to us. Please DO NOT ship the product back to us without contacting us first and receiving an RGA number and return instructions. After we receive the defective merchandise, we will test it if need be, and we will ship back to you (at our expense) a non-defective replacement product.

If the product is defective, you will receive a replacement. If you choose to return the defective item, rather than replace it, we will charge a 25% restocking fee and your original shipping and processing charges will not be refunded. The return of the product is at your expense.

Products returned as defective which are found not to be defective are subject to a 25% handling charge, additionally the customer will be responsible for our shipping costs incurred in sending the non-defective product back to the customer.

If an item is found to be defective more than 2 days after you receive it, or if an item has been installed, it cannot be returned. Alpha Granite does not warranty any products, but most products we sell are covered by a manufacturer's warranty. All warranties which are provided by the manufacturer will be honored by the manufacturer, not by Alpha Granite. We will use our best efforts to assist you if you need help dealing with a manufacturer on a warranty issue. You may have to contact the manufacturer directly, and whatever policy the manufacturer has will determine how you will proceed.

 

 

RETURNS:

HOLD ONTO THE ORIGINAL BOXES AND PACKAGING.

We will only accept a return if it is returned in the original manufacturer's packaging. If Alpha Granite ships your order undamaged and you wish to return it for reasons not specified above, you must contact us within 2 days of receiving the product . The products must be brand new (never used) and in perfect condition with all manufacturer's packaging including all manuals, fittings and accessories . We charge a 25% restocking fee and your original shipping and processing charges will not be refunded

Please contact us if you wish to return any products. We will issue you an RGA number and return instructions on how and where to ship the products. The merchandise return address may be different than the address from where we originally shipped the item.

Items returned without an RGA number are subject to a higher restocking fee and may delay the processing of your credit.

We do not accept returns for used or assembled products. We do not sell used products and you will not receive any used or refurbished merchandise from us.

Special order, non-listed and quoted items (items that do not have prices listed on our web pages and/or items that you received a special quote on) may not be returned.

Items that were NOT shipped by a Standard Ground Carrier (for example, UPS, FedEx, USPS) may NOT be returned. Items that ship by freight may not be returned. For example, items such as tubs may not be returned. If they are defective, you will either receive a replacement or it will be repaired, but we do not accept returns for items that ship by freight.

Please Note: Alpha Granite does not accept traditional returns for stone products . In the unlikely event that your stone product is damaged or defective, please contact Alpha Granite as soon as possible. If something is wrong with an order, we certainly want to help. Please do not schedule installation of your products until after the product has been received and examined. Installing a damaged or defective product may void a warranty or damage claim.

If you aren't certain the products you are ordering are EXACTLY what you want/need and expect; you should contact us at liliana@alpha-granite.com or call us at 401-228-6088 before you place an order online. As stated above, some merchandise may not be returned and shipping/processing charges will not be refunded.

NON RETURNABLE ITEMS:

Items that are heavy or large (items that ship by freight) may NOT be returned. Items such as tubs may not be returned. If they are defective, you will either receive a replacement or it will be repaired; but we do not accept returns on items that ship by freight.

Also, items that are "special ordered/quoted" cannot be returned. Please Note some special ordered products are not marked as “special order” or non-returnable, however we will notify you if this is the case.

Items stated as non-returnable on the page from which they are ordered may not be returned.

Items that you have installed cannot be returned.

Items that are not brand new and/or missing any of the manufacturer's packaging cannot be returned.

Items that have been specially manufactured for your order may not be returned.

Items that have been cut-to-order may not be returned.

Also, items that have a shelf-life may not be returned.

 

RETURNS FOR WRONG ORDERS PLACED:

If you made an error and ordered the wrong products (from the items that have listed prices on our web pages; not special quoted products), and wish to return the product; you will need to e-mail us at liliana@alpha-granite.com or call us at 401-228-6088 and request an RGA number and return instructions.

Please DO NOT return any product that you have ordered without prior contact . Many products ship direct from the manufacturer or one of their access warehouses and often need to be returned to the same warehouse. These warehouses will refuse deliveries that are not properly marked and documented with issued RGA numbers . This will make processing your credit very difficult and may delay your credit.

Returns of incorrectly ordered products are subject to a restocking fee . If you have ordered incorrectly, wish to reorder the correct product and return the incorrect product, your restocking fee can be up to 25% (If you place a reorder we will try to get you the lowest restocking fee possible).

Your reorder must be placed prior to your credit being processed. Also, the "reorder" product must be a similar product, both in price and type of product. For example: A $200.00 sink must be replaced with a sink costing nearly the same amount, a faucet of specific value must be replaced with a faucet of the same value, etc. If you wish to reorder right away, reference will be made to your return on your reorder to ensure that you receive the lowest restocking fee possible. If you need to apply your credit to your reorder, you can do so; but we will need to receive the product and/or credit for the product before doing so.

If you wish to return a product but do not place a reorder, the restocking fee is 25%. If you return an original product, reorder a replacement and then return the replacement product, you will be assessed a 25% restocking fee for the return of the reorder.

 

 

RETURN CREDIT:

 

We will notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item. Please note we will refund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error. We will do our best to process the return quickly. Please allow several days for us to receive and examine the returned merchandise. Refunds will be credited to the original purchasing credit card account number or in a similar purchasing method that the returned item was purchased with.

CHARGEBACKS:

 

If a customer makes a chargeback on a credit card, Alpha Granite reserves the right to charge an added 15% Dispute Fee because such chargebacks are expensive for Alpha Granite. If you have a question or a dispute, please contact us to come to a resolution.

 

 


CREDIT CARD CHARGING POLICY:

If an item has a lead time, we will use our best efforts to advise you of any potential lead times and get your consent on a lead time before charging your credit card. Or, we will send you an email in case we do not get you on the phone. If we know that an item has a lead time, in order to secure this item for your order, we charge your credit card in advance. This is a common industry practice and it is the only way that our computer system can make sure that we have your payment before you receive your item. Occasionally, there will be an unforeseen lead time on an item. We apologize for not being able to forecast all lead times. However, Alpha Granite will never be responsible for interest charges on your credit card or for guaranteeing any lead times. We rely on 3rd parties for their best guess estimates of lead times, and cannot guarantee any lead time. Most of our orders do ship out very quickly. RGA EXPLANATION:

When it is necessary to return a product, please contact us via e-mail at liliana@alpha-granite.com or call us at 401-228-6088 prior to doing so. All returns, regardless of how they were shipped or where they were shipped from must be referenced by an RGA Number (Returned Goods Authorization Number).

Items returned without an RGA number may be set aside until we hear from the customer. We process thousands of orders weekly, and subsequently receive a sizable number of returns. If not referenced by an RGA Number, a returned package will need to be researched so that the customer can be contacted regarding the return. This results in delays for the processing of credit. This system is necessary to ensure that you receive proper credit in a timely fashion.

When you contact us via e-mail or telephone requesting an RGA to return a product, we will either issue the RGA at that time, or contact the warehouse that it shipped from and request that one be issued. If we need to receive the RGA from another warehouse, we will let you know by forwarding the information to you along with shipping instructions as soon as we receive it from them. The instructions for return must be followed carefully.

Once the product has been received at our warehouse, it will be inspected and you will be credited for the returned product less the applicable restocking fee and original shipping and processing charges .

If the product is returning to another warehouse, they will contact us once they have received the product, inspected it, and we have been issued credit. Once we have been credited for the return, your credit will be issued less the restocking fee and original shipping and processing charges.

All returns are subject to a restocking fee. If a reorder is placed for a similar (as well as costing close to the same amount of the original) product, the restocking fee can be lowered. Please note that if for some reason the reorder must be returned, the restocking fee for the reorder will be 25%.

 

 

RESTOCKING FEES:

All returns are subject to a restocking fee. We have a standard restocking fee of 25% on all returned items. If you wish to return a product but do not place a reorder, the restocking fee will be 25%. If a reorder is placed for a similar product (costing nearly the same amount), the restocking fee can be lowered.

For a product to be considered a "reorder", it must be for a product that directly replaces the item that's being returned, in both price and type. For example: If a $200.00 sink is returned, the reorder must be for a sink of comparable value.

Please note that if for some reason the reorder must be returned, the restocking fee for the return of the reorder will be 25%. Also, items returned after 30 days are subject to a higher restocking fee or may not be returnable at all. We will let you know our decision when we respond to your request.

Your reorder must be placed prior to your credit being processed. If you wish to reorder right away, reference will be made to your return on your reorder to ensure that you receive the lower restocking fee. If you need to apply your credit to you reorder, you can do so, but we will need to receive the product and/or credit for the product before doing so.

If you return a product, reorder, and then return the reordered product, you will be assessed a 25% restocking fee for the return of the reorder.

CANCELLATION:

 

Alert us as soon as possible when you know that you want to cancel an order. The fastest way to contact us about a cancellation is by phone, but you must also email us at liliana@alpha-granite.com. EVEN IF YOU CALL US, all cancellation requests must be made in writing by sending an email to liliana@alpha-granite.com stating your name, order # and reason for cancellation. You may also choose to call us at 401-228-6088 as this may allow us to stop a shipment faster. Keep your sent email as a proof that you tried to cancel the order at a certain date and time. In order for an order to be cancelled, WE MUST SEND YOU BACK A CANCELLATION CONFIRMATION. Until you receive this email, your order has not yet been cancelled.

Orders can only be cancelled if they have not entered the shipping process. If your credit card has been charged but your order has not entered the shipping process, your order may be cancelled and credited, less a 4% credit card transaction fee. If your order has entered the shipping process (either shipping to you, or ordered from a 3rd party that cannot stop the shipment), then you may not cancel an order. If you would like to return an item that has already entered the shipping process, please see our return policies. An order that has already been processed cannot be cancelled over the weekend as the manufacturers are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Please note: All discontinued items and colors and all modified items (such as after we punch additional holes in a stainless steel sink) are non-refundable and non-returnable. Some items are non-cancelable and non- returnable.

COLLECTIONS:

Should this account become delinquent, customer is responsible for any charges that may be incurred during any collection process or legal actions that may become necessary.

APPLICABLE LAW:

Disputes:

Any dispute relating in any way to your visit to Alpha Granite's website or to products you purchase through Alpha-granite.com shall be submitted to confidential arbitration in Rhode Island except that, to the extent you have in any manner violated or threatened to violate Alpha Granite's contract rights, Alpha-granite.com may seek injunctive or other appropriate relief in any state or federal court in the state of Rhode Island, and you consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in such courts. Arbitration under this agreement shall be conducted under the rules then prevailing of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitrator's award shall be binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no arbitration under this Agreement shall be joined to an arbitration involving any other party subject to this Agreement, whether through class arbitration proceedings or otherwise.
